10 years of Tourism studies at the URV

This year marks ten years of Tourism Studies at the URV. Tourism was first studied as a diploma in the 2002-03 academic year and was taught at the School of Tourism and Leisure temporarily sited in the building in the Plaça d’Estudi in Vila-seca. In the 2004-2005 academic year the school moved to the new building Joanot Martorell street in the same town.

Over the last ten years, the school has established itself through by transforming and broadening the number of courses that it offers, which currently include Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral degrees in the fields of Tourism, Geography and Spatial Planning.

As a result of this process, on 15 March 2012 the school was renamed the Faculty of Tourism and Geography and since summer it has been undergoing building work to refurbish and expand the site.
